President Obama meets with South Korean president

President Obama met with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak at the White House, where the two leaders spoke on relations with North Korea. Joel Wit, a Ploughshares grantee at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, discussed the meeting and North Korea on PBS’s The NewsHour with Gwen Ifill.  Emphasizing the need for engagement, Wit commented, “Whether they're in the six-party talks or bilateral negotiations or some other form doesn't really matter. We just need to get back to negotiations and to try to work out a peaceful solution to this situation.”
