President Obama met with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak at the White House, where the two leaders spoke on relations with North Korea. Joel Wit [2], a Ploughshares grantee at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies [3], discussed the meeting and North Korea on PBS’s The NewsHour [4]with Gwen Ifill. Emphasizing the need for engagement, Wit commented, “Whether they're in the six-party talks or bilateral negotiations or some other form doesn't really matter. We just need to get back to negotiations and to try to work out a peaceful solution to this situation.”
