Bonnie Jenkins nominated for State Department post

President Obama announced his intent to nominate Bonnie Jenkins as Coordinator for Threat Reduction Programs (with the Rank of Ambassador) at the Department of State. Dr. Jenkins, as a close colleague of Ploughshares Fund was profiled in our 2007 Annual Report, is Program Officer for U.S. Foreign and Security policy at the Ford Foundation, which collaborated with Ploughshares Fund on the Peace and Security Initiative. She also served as counsel on the 9/11 Commission and recently served as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Naval Reserves, completing a year of deployment at CENTCOM.
