October 26: Nuclear Policy in a Time of Crisis

Ploughshares Fund will host a special conference on Thursday, October 26 at the Willard Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C. The event starts at 8:30 AM and concludes promptly at 3:30 PM. It will be livestreamed on Facebook here.

The conference will focus on three key nuclear issues facing the United States today: How can we prevent a new Korean War and stop North Korea’s nuclear missile programs? How can we preserve the nuclear agreement with Iran that rolled back that country’s nuclear program and prevented a war in the Middle East? How can we stop the new nuclear arms race and bring some sanity to our nuclear policies?

Conference speakers include, in order of appearance: Joe Cirincione, Rep. Barbara Lee, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Sen. Ed Markey, Rep. Ted Lieu, Colin Kahl, Kelsey Davenport, Jessica Mathews, Seyed Hossein Mousavian, Rep. Adam Smith, Sec. William Perry, Sen. Chris Van Hollen, Christopher A. Ford, Suzanne DiMaggio, Carol Giacomo, Robert Gallucci, Beatrice Fihn, Michael Crowley and Sen. Jeff Merkley.
