U.S. must get its own nuclear house in order

Peter Stockton and Ingrid Drake of Project On Government Oversight (POGO) President Peter Stockton write that as Washington prepares to host more than 40 heads of state next month for a nuclear security summit, "the U.S., which has the world’s second-largest stock of highly enriched uranium (HEU) and plutonium, needs to unveil a much bolder strategy for securing its own bomb-grade material to inspire other nations to follow suit."  In an op-ed in The Hill, Stockton and Drake discuss the potential for a nuclear terrorist attack in the U.S.  Ploughshares Fund supports POGO’s work on nuclear security issues.
