Obama's nuclear-free call taps global momentum

Speaking on President Obama's speech in Prague calling for a nuclear-free world, Joe Cirincione told AFP that Obama was right to lead by example and then stage a summit of nuclear countries. He added, "I have been waiting for this speech for a long time. This could be a turning point in US nuclear policy. It changes everything." Cirincione recalled that countries like Iran and North Korea have criticized the U.S. for its own nuclear programs, but Obama’s new approach helps convince other countries “to take stronger action to enforce UN resolutions."
