NY Times debate: Is nuclear elimination possible?

"No Nukes: Possibility or Pipe Dream?" was the question posed to four debaters in the New York Times' series, "Room for Debate: A Running Commentary on the News." 

Juxtaposed with the views of commentators who deem nuclear disarmament a "dangerous fantasy" and who incorrectly state that "most analysts" reject the abolition argument, Joe Cirincione asserted that "With his April 5 Prague speech, President Obama established the elimination of nuclear weapons as the goal of U.S. nuclear policy. He married the vision — endorsed by every president since Truman — with comprehensive and practical steps for reducing dangers now."
