NIAC commends Obama for diplomatic strategy in Iran

The Ploughshares-funded National Iranian American Council (NIAC), along with twenty peace and security organizations, issued a joint letter commending the White House for its diplomatic strategy for engaging Iran. NIAC coordinated an effort to support the President's diplomatic strategy and oppose sanctions legislation currently under consideration in the House that will render negotiations more difficult. NIAC’s Trita Parsi commented, "The White House is taking the right approach. […] We are very concerned about the Iranian government's behavior in a number of areas, which is exactly why sustained, multilateral engagement is so critical. We must work with our allies rather than against them."
