Arms Control Association Receives Prestigious MacArthur Foundation Award

The Arms Control Association (ACA), a Plougshares Fund grantee, has been selected by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation as a recipient of their Award for Creative and Effective Institutions.  This prestigious award recognizes eleven exceptional Foundation grantees and includes a monetary award helping to continue the work that each organization is doing.

Based in Washington, D.C., ACA works to reduce the threats posed by the world's most dangerous weapons through analysis, research, and outreach, and produces a monthly journal Arms Control Today. ACA will use the Award to establish an operating reserve and to develop and execute a communications plan and a strategic plan for donor outreach.

Following the annoucement of the Award Daryl Kimball, ACA's Executive Director, said, "We are honored to receive the MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions...The award recognizes institutions around the globe that are leaders on critical issues and challenges. We are very proud to be recognized as one of these high-impact organizations."
