Are you creative, web-savvy and interested in international policy?  Join one of the nation's leading players in national security for a substantive, year-long social media and design internship.  This internship will focus on the nuts and bolts of promoting social change online, for an issue that's constantly in the headlines.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, keeping abreast of news on arms control and other international security to support social media, events, TV interviews, articles, blogs and other publications, designing content for events and social media, assisting in management of social media channels and aiding in the daily operations of the San Francisco office of Ploughshares Fund, one of the leading U.S. grantmaking organizations solely devoted to the peace and security field.

To help support and grow our work, Ploughshares Fund seeks a contract grant writer to work part time on existing and new grants ranging in size from $25,000 - $1,000,000. The right person will be a compelling writer with proven experience working with foundations; someone who is able to support existing institutional relationships while spending some time prospecting for new funding.

Ploughshares Fund is a publicly supported foundation that funds, organizes and innovates projects meant to ensure that a nuclear weapon can never be used again. Since 1981, Ploughshares Fund has led and supported a community of experts, advocates and analysts to implement smart strategies to reduce and ultimately eliminate nuclear weapons.

In honor of Chair Emeritus Roger Hale’s unwavering commitment to Ploughshares Fund and its vision to ensure that nuclear weapons can never be used again, Ploughshares Fund seeks applicants for a competitive, one-year paid position as a Roger L. Hale Fellow at Ploughshares Fund.

The Roger L. Hale Fellowship will provide an exemplary individual with an outstanding opportunity to develop professional skills by working at a leading peace and security institution that has been at the forefront of nuclear nonproliferation policy, advocacy and grantmaking for more than three decades. Ploughshares Fund’s extensive network within the nuclear nonproliferation community will place the Fellow into a unique position to gain practical day-to-day experience grappling with a wide variety of nuclear weapons policy issues. The Fellow may be based in either the San Francisco or Washington, DC office of Ploughshares Fund.

Ploughshares Fund is seeking an intern for its San Francisco office to begin as soon as possible in 2014 and work through the spring academic year and/or through the summer months.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, supporting the grantmaking team with research tasks and database management, conducting research on arms control and international security to support Ploughshares Fund publications, assisting with social media, and aiding in the daily operations of the San Francisco office.
