Joe Cirincione attended the Global Zero Commission dinner at the St. Regis in Washington, DC.  The dinner came the evening before the launch of Global Zero's step-by-step plan for the elimination of nuclear weapons.

The events were presided over by U.S. Ambassador Richard Burt, former chief negotiator for the Strategic Arms Reduction Talks (START).  The commission is composed of political and military leaders from Russia, the United Kingdom, China, India, Pakistan, Japan, and Germany - including former Clinton National Security Advisor Tony Lake, former U.S. Ambassador Thomas Pickering.  Former U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel - a Ploughshares board member - also contributed to the commission's plan.
