Victor Gilinsky

Dr. Victor Gilinsky is an independent consultant on energy matters. He has been deeply involved in nuclear power, nuclear proliferation, and nuclear fuel cycle and waste issues. Gilinsky served two terms as Commissioner of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where he played an important role in tightening U.S. nuclear export standards. He was previously Head of Rand Corporation’s Physical Sciences Department, dealing with a wide range of scientific and technical matters, both civilian and military. Most recently he has been a consultant to the State of Nevada in relation to the proposed Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository.
