Under Pauline H. Baker's leadership, the Fund for Peace has become a leading educational and research organization. Her expertise includes weak and failing states; conflict resolution and peacekeeping; peace and security operations; early warning and state-building; U.S. foreign policy; and threat convergences. She lived and worked in Nigeria and other countries in the developing world. She was a senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a staff member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and staff director of the Africa Subcommittee. Dr. Baker is a member of professional organizations including the Council on Foreign Relations and the Women's Foreign Policy Group. She is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
