Arms Control Advocacy Collaborative
The
Arms Control Advocacy Collaborative -- AC
2 for short -- is a unique partnership among 14 organizations that work together to advance a common nonproliferation agenda.
AC
2 brings together the elements needed to have an impact on Capitol Hill: respected organizations representing tens of thousands of members, clearly defined objectives, a strategy for speaking with a common voice, all coordinated by a skilled full-time lobbyist.
AC
2 has been at the forefront of efforts to build opposition to the Reliable Replacement Warhead and the expansion of the nuclear weapons complex, promote direct engagement with Iran, increase funding for Cooperative Threat Reduction programs and prevent the weaponization of space.
Comprising AC
2 are 20/20 Vision, the Alliance for Nuclear Accountability, the Arms Control Association, British American Security Information Council, Center for Arms Control and Nonproliferation, Friends Committee on National Legislation, Global Green USA, Global Security Initiative, Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, Peace Action, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Taxpayers for Common Sense, Union of Concerned Scientists and Women's Action for New Directions.
Terri Lodge, Ploughshares Fund's Director of Government Affairs, has coordinated AC
2 since the inception of the collaborative in 2002.
